Purchasing / Storeroom Manager
Salary $60,000 $85,000 + Benefits in upstate NY
Were looking for an experienced Purchasing / Storeroom Manager to oversee MRO purchasing and storeroom operations for a manufacturing facility. If you understand maintenance materials, inventory control, vendor management, and the importance of having the right parts available at the right time, then this role is for YOU!
Youll work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, EHS, suppliers, and Corporate Sourcing to support daily operations, planned maintenance, and outages. Experience with JD Edwards and eMaint are a plus along with supporting maintenance outages & job kitting.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can balance urgent maintenance needs, inventory availability, cost control, and disciplined purchasing practices while helping improve overall storeroom performance.
What Youll Do as the Purchasing / Storeroom Manager:
Manage purchasing of MRO materials, supplies, services, and critical parts with follow-through on delivery
Manage vendors, pricing, lead times, order accuracy, and material expediting
Oversee storeroom inventory and maintain all info, item setup, min/max levels, safety stock, and cycle counts
Coordinate parts and material readiness for planned maintenance and outages
Monitor stock-outs, excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory
Support supplier performance, preferred vendor programs, and sourcing initiatives
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve inventory turnover
Serve as primary owner of the CMMS and support purchasing/ERP systems
Drive continuous improvement in purchasing and storeroom processes
What Youll Bring Purchasing / Storeroom Manager
At least 3 years of experience in MRO purchasing, tactical buying, storeroom management, maintenance materials, or a related supply chain role
Experience with purchasing, ERP, and CMMS in a manufacturing or industrial plant
Understanding of electrical and mechanical parts
Experience with inventory controls, safety stock, cycle counting, and obsolete inventory
Strong knowledge of purchase orders, vendor follow-up, expediting, and procurement processes
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office & general ability to use computer systems.
