Truck Equipment Installer / Technician Pay: $24 $28/hour, depending on experience Lawrence Trailer & Truck Equipment is looking for a Truck Equipment Technician to join our team. If you enjoy working with your hands, troubleshooting mechanical problems, and turning a truck into a finished piece of equipment, we'd like to talk with you. This is a hands-on commercial truck equipment position not a production welding job. You'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment such as service bodies, dump bodies, flatbeds, liftgates, cranes, snow equipment, and other truck accessories. You don't need to be an expert in every system listed below. If you have a strong mechanical background and experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, heavy equipment, trailers, fleet maintenance, automotive repair, or a related field, we're interested in talking with you. What You'll Do Install and repair commercial truck bodies and equipment Install and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, hoses, and related components Diagnose and repair 12-volt electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and controls Install liftgates, cranes, snow equipment, and other truck accessories Perform MIG welding and light-to-moderate fabrication as needed for installations and repairs Read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and installation instructions Test completed installations to ensure proper operation, quality, and safety Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For: We're looking for someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys troubleshooting, and takes pride in doing quality work. Experience in any of the following is valuable: Truck or trailer repair Heavy equipment Fleet maintenance Automotive or diesel repair Hydraulic systems 12-volt electrical systems Equipment installation Mechanical maintenance or a related field MIG welding You should also be comfortable using common hand and power tools and working safely around vehicles and shop equipment. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is preferred.
