THE ROLE

The Senior Commercial Superintendent will provide onsite leadership for commercial construction projects from preconstruction and mobilization through completion and turnover.


This individual will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, coordinating subcontractors and field activities, ensuring quality standards, and promoting a strong culture of jobsite safety.


The successful candidate will be an experienced field leader who takes ownership of the project, communicates effectively with project teams and clients, and understands how to keep complex commercial projects moving forward.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall onsite leadership and day-to-day management of commercial construction projects.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, deliveries, inspections, and site activities.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules.

  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and established quality standards.

  • Work closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to resolve field issues.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential scheduling, quality, safety, or coordination concerns.

  • Lead subcontractor and field coordination meetings as required.

  • Oversee punch-list completion, inspections, closeout, and successful project turnover.

  • Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.

  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to field personnel while creating a professional, team-oriented jobsite environment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience, including significant Superintendent-level responsibility.

  • Demonstrated experience with ground-up construction and renovation projects.

  • Project experience may include commercial, education, retail, industrial, medical, and hospital construction.

  • Medical/hospital and education construction experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades while maintaining project schedules.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Team-oriented leadership style with a strong work ethic and personal integrity.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused, can-do attitude.

  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety.

  • OSHA and other applicable construction safety certifications are strongly preferred.
