Sales Engineering Manager

Remote Full-Time United States


A leading manufacturer of advanced power conversion and power management solutions is seeking a Sales Engineering Manager to drive growth, lead a distributed sales engineering team, and support customers in highly regulated, mission-critical industries including defense, aerospace, industrial automation, and other high-reliability markets.


This position reports directly to executive leadership and combines strategic sales management with hands-on technical engagement. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading a team, developing sales strategies, and partnering with customers to deliver customized AC-DC and DC-DC power solutions that meet challenging technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of remote sales engineers and technical sales professionals.

  • Establish performance expectations, coach team members, and promote continuous improvement.

  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture built on technical expertise and responsiveness.

  • Support employee development through training, accountability, and performance management.


Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to support company growth objectives.

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing and emerging markets.

  • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to guide business decisions.

  • Contribute to product roadmap discussions and recommend areas for future investment.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance metrics for leadership.

  • Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience.


Technical Sales & Solution Design

  • Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to develop tailored power conversion solutions.

  • Translate customer specifications into technical product recommendations.

  • Assist in the development of custom configurations, including bill-of-materials creation and component research.

  • Provide technical expertise during customer evaluations and proposal discussions.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Customer Relationship Management

  • Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and technical documentation.

  • Conduct customer meetings via phone, video conference, and in-person visits.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic partners.

  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.

  • Ensure timely follow-up and responsiveness to customer inquiries and opportunities.


Sales Operations

  • Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, and forecasting information within CRM systems.

  • Support quoting processes and reporting requirements.

  • Monitor pipeline activity to ensure alignment with revenue goals.


Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales, business development, or marketing experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling electronic systems or components into military, aerospace, or defense environments.

  • Previous leadership experience managing sales, applications engineering, or sales engineering teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge of power electronics, including AC-DC and DC-DC conversion technologies.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Experience using CRM platforms for opportunity management, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically as needed.


Preferred

  • Experience working directly with defense contractors or U.S. government agencies.

  • Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704.

  • Background in custom engineered products or power conversion solutions.

Work Location

Remote - United States


Candidates must reside within the contiguous United States. Would prefer NE or MID -WEST US. Applicant located in Alaska or Hawaii are not eligible for consideration.
