Duration 6 Months CTH Location Hybrid 2-3 days in Dublin, CA 14 plus profile Project Description Trying to enable Snowflake as our target data platform Recently migratec from Netezza to Snowflake lift and shift IT is responsible for landing the data DBT (Transformation), MicroStrategy PowerBI, SQL DBM, Data Modeling, Defining Currently using StreamSets for ingestion Alation for Data Governance (nice to have) Point is to start building with a NEW, correct framework for SVT Duties/Day to Day Overview Provide guidance and best practices platform, business dashboard creation, working with any new project between IT, Data, and MSI Business outcomes bring all of our business domain data into one place Write use cases for the business Creating Business dashboards o Modelizing all of that stuff for the business Will be a part of EVERY Data and Analytics project across the org Needs to understand security aspects, HOW does Snowflake do this? Working closely with Stakeholders Should be part of the design from the very start understanding how Snowflake does XYZ Working closely with the SI partner and architects Top Requirements (Must haves) Senior Level potential to go to a principal level in the future (Groom them, take them to a principal level) Some hands on to do quick POCs give options, build quick PYTHON development experience (Architect level, give guidance, understand and read code, do some quick POCs) Features or Patterns MUST Understand Medallion Architecture HOW do you model, HOW to structure the data (ex: Customer Loyalty Program, HR Data MORE than just technical experience good attitude, good comms, driving conversations to convince people of their advice, designs, POCs, etc. Additional Qualifications (Nice to Haves) Role Need & Responsibilities The position is for a Solution Data Architect focused on the SVT (Single Version of Truth) project, which aims to enable Snowflake as the target data platform. The architect will be involved from the initial design phase, contributing to architecture, data modeling, ingestion, transformation, and enabling reporting/consumption use cases. The architect will participate in the overall architecture and design, working closely with both internal teams and SI partner architects. Responsibilities include evaluating and potentially improving current ingestion approaches (currently using StreamSets), supporting DBT-based transformation, and ensuring the architecture supports downstream analytics and reporting (Power BI, MicroStrategy). The architect should be able to contribute to discussions on CDC, initial vs. incremental loads, and best practices for data modeling and transformation. Key Must-Haves Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake as a data platform. Solid understanding of data ingestion patterns, including CDC and batch/initial loads. Experience with DBT for data transformation. Familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., SQL DBM) and practices. Exposure to reporting/consumption tools such as Power BI and MicroStrategy. Ability to work in a hybrid onsite model in Dublin, with flexibility for 2-3 days onsite as per company policy. Understanding of data governance concepts (Alation is used, but deep expertise not required). Willingness to be part of a long-term team, starting as a contractor with the intent to convert to FTE.
