Job Description

Position Summary:

The Assistant Coalition Director oversees the day-to-day implementation of the New Jersey Coalition for Addiction Recovery Support (NJ-CARS), Garden State Alliance of Recovery Residences (GSARR), Garden State Recovery Network, and NJ-AIM initiatives, supervises the Coalition Coordinator, Regional Coordinators, and Regional Peer Navigators, coordinating accreditation activities, statewide training, technical assistance, healthcare integration, manages partner communication, supports data collection, and project documentation to ensure timely completion of project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily implementation of project operations.
  • Supervise and coach Coalition Coordinator, Regional Coordinators, and Regional Peer Navigators,
  • Manage project timelines and implementation schedules.
  • Coordinate meetings of the Program Integrity & Sustainability Workgroup and statewide learning collaboratives.
  • Maintain communication with project partners and participating Recovery Community Organizations.
  • Coordinate accreditation cohorts, technical assistance, and statewide trainings.
  • Maintain partner communications.
  • Support SPARS reporting, documentation, and grant compliance activities.
  • Monitor project timelines.
  • Coordinate Recovery Ecosystems Conference activities.
  • Support implementation of healthcare integration initiatives with hospitals, health systems, behavioral health providers, FQHCs, and CCBHCs.
  • Assist with continuous quality improvement and project monitoring.

  • Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or related field required. CPRS credential or ability to obtain preferred. Minimum three years of experience in peer recovery support, project coordination, or recovery services, including peer supervision. Experience coordinating behavioral health, healthcare, or grant-funded projects, and statewide initiatives and technical assistance.

    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    Project coordination, peer supervision, organization, communication, technical assistance, meeting facilitation, grant administration, documentation, time management, training, data management, relationship building, and problem-solving.

    Travel and Special Requirements:

    Frequent statewide travel for trainings, meetings, technical assistance, outreach, and partner engagement. 40 hours per week.
