Job Description: State-Certified ELA Teacher - Remote, Part-Time Contract
EiFO Academy is seeking state-certified English Language Arts teachers to join our team of remote educators. We offer recurring teaching opportunities across academic terms, with classes scheduled around teachers' availability.
As an online afterschool academy serving students worldwide, we provide small-group instruction with up to six students per class. Our teachers deliver engaging lessons, provide meaningful feedback, and help students build confidence and academic skills.
Position Overview

Employment type: Part-time, independent contractor
Location: Remote
Subject: English Language Arts
Compensation: Base rates of $12.50 per 30-minute session and $25-$35 per 45-55-minute session, depending on the assigned course. Additional enrollment bonuses of $5-$10 apply to eligible classes.
Scheduling: Selected teachers complete onboarding through our platform and enter their availability during that process. Classes are scheduled within those availability windows, with consistent students and recurring weekly class times throughout each term. No minimum number of teaching hours is required.

Available Positions
All schedules are listed in Eastern Time. Candidates may apply for more than one position.
Position 1: Grades 5 and Above
This position includes teaching existing classes for the final three weeks of the fall term, November 1-21, 2026:

Monday: 9:00-9:55 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00-8:45 p.m.

Classes for the winter term will be scheduled based on the availability entered during onboarding.
Position 2: Grades 1-4
Seeking teachers with availability Monday through Friday between 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. Weekend availability is an advantage. Experience teaching early elementary students is preferred.
Position 3: All Grades - Fridays and Weekends
Seeking teachers with availability on Fridays and Saturdays and/or Sundays, during morning and/or evening hours.
Position 4: Ages 6-15 - Early Mornings
Seeking a state-certified ELA teacher with experience teaching ESL or working with English Language Learners (ELLs).
This position includes teaching existing classes for the final three weeks of the fall term, November 1-21, 2026:

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 6:00-6:45 a.m.

Classes for the winter term will be scheduled based on the availability entered during onboarding.
Upcoming Term and Start Dates
We are currently hiring for the winter term, which runs November 29, 2026-March 6, 2027. Positions 1 and 4 begin November 1 with the three-week fall assignment described above; Positions 2 and 3 begin with the winter term.
Scheduled breaks include:

Between-term break: November 22-28, 2026.
Winter holiday break: December 20, 2026-January 2, 2027.

No classes are held during these breaks. Teaching opportunities continue in subsequent terms based on enrollment and teacher availability.
Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, effective online ELA instruction.
Encourage active participation and adapt instruction to students' learning needs.
Monitor student work during class, providing guidance and corrections as students work.
Review, correct, and grade writing homework.
Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
Communicate promptly with administration regarding student concerns and technical issues.

Qualifications

State teaching certification appropriate to the grades taught.
Demonstrated teaching experience and strong ELA instructional skills.
Proficiency with computers and online teaching tools.
Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Reliable internet connection and a PC or Mac equipped with a webcam, microphone, and headphones.
Ability to commit to recurring weekly classes for the duration of each term.

Experience teaching small groups online is preferred.
