Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Health Therapist to join our dynamic team at the Porterville Movement Rehab & Wellness Center in San Diego, California. This full-time position plays a critical role in assisting patients as they navigate their journey toward enhanced mobility and overall well-being. As part of our innovative rehabilitation center, you will engage in the full spectrum of physical therapy, including promotion, prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation strategies tailored to each individual's needs.

Situated in the heart of San Diego, our 5000-square-foot facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and resources designed to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. Our team consists of highly qualified professionals, including two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant, who collaborate to deliver exceptional care primarily to patients with private medical insurance.
Work Environment
This role is an onsite position at our contemporary rehabilitation center, where collaboration and innovation thrive. The facility is designed to foster a positive and productive work atmosphere, allowing therapists to focus on patient care while utilizing advanced tools and techniques. Typically, you will work Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, ensuring a strong work-life balance that helps maintain your enthusiasm and commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
As an Orthopedic Physical Health Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patient needs and establishing personalized treatment plans to optimize functional mobility.
- Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, reducing pain, and improving movement efficiency.
- Managing a caseload of one patient per hour, ensuring high-quality, individualized therapy treatments.
- Employing a diverse range of manual therapy techniques and exercise regimens to facilitate recovery.
- Monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment plans based on real-time feedback and assessments.
- Documenting all therapy services provided in compliance with healthcare regulations, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Collaborating with physicians, rehabilitation team members, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Educating patients on alternative strategies for pain relief and mobility enhancements, minimizing reliance on medications and surgical interventions.
- Motivating patients to actively participate in their recovery and to embrace a healthier lifestyle through improved strength, flexibility, and coordination.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with orthopedic patients, including those recovering from sports injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Your expertise will greatly contribute to their recovery journeys, empowering them to regain independence and improve their quality of life. We cater primarily to patients with private medical insurance, allowing us to focus on personalized care and exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess:
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent qualification.
- Certification and a clean license to practice as a physical therapist in California.
- A clean disciplinary record with no prior board actions against your license.
- Strong proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as WebPT.
- Demonstrated competence in manual therapy techniques and personalized fitness program development.
Preferred Experience
We prefer candidates who have:
- Previous experience working in orthopedic outpatient settings.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing effective rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs.
- A strong background in patient education and motivational counseling.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
