We are seeking an experienced, skilled CNC Machine Tool Field Service Engineer to support our growing customer base in South Dakota. This position is remote/field-based, with a strong preference for candidates living in the Watertown, SD or Brookings, SD areas to optimize regional travel.

If you have a background in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of advanced production equipment like Makino, Matsuura, Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, or Okuma, we want to talk to you!

What You'll Do

  • Travel to customer sites throughout South Dakota and the surrounding region to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls (primarily Makino, Matsuura, and Haas).
  • Receive full travel support, including a company service vehicle, gas card, and paid travel expenses.
  • Perform new machine installations, leveling, alignment, and initial setup.
  • Repair and adjust mechanical systems, including spindles, drives, slides, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components, including controls, electrical peripherals, and safety systems.
  • Calibrate and replace parts to ensure strict adherence to machine tolerances and precise performance.
  • Maintain meticulous digital service records, documenting machine status, parts used, and repairs completed.
  • Provide top-tier customer service, walking customers through diagnostic findings and technical recommendations.

What You'll Bring

  • CNC machine tool repair and troubleshooting experience (Makino, Matsuura, and Haas strongly preferred).
  • Fanuc control expertise with strong confidence in diagnosing and resolving Fanuc-based logic and electrical system errors.
  • Multidisciplinary technical skills, with the independent ability to diagnose issues across complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Blueprint proficiency, including the ability to fluently read and interpret complex technical drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical ladders.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and a professional demeanor while working on-site at local manufacturing facilities.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (required for company vehicle operation).
  • Local residency in the Watertown, SD or Brookings, SD area.

What We Offer

  • Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00 / hour (dependent on experience)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance starting Day 1
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Company-provided vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and specialized tools
  • Ongoing factory training and opportunities to advance your technical skills
