Work Environment
This full-time role is based onsite at our modern outpatient office in Buffalo, New York. Your work schedule will typically run Monday through Friday, encompassing 40-hour shifts, allowing for a work-life balance that supports both personal and professional growth. Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of our rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and develop tailored treatment plans based on physician referrals.
- Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques and exercise prescriptions, to enhance mobility and function in patients.
- Treating a diverse patient population, focusing primarily on orthopedic conditions but also engaging with pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients to promote holistic recovery.
- Delivering exceptional customer service by fostering an empathetic and supportive atmosphere for patients, which contributes to a positive therapeutic experience.
- Collaborating with fellow therapists and healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to ensure coordinated care and address any emerging complications.
- Providing education and resources to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their rehabilitation journey.
- Meeting utilization goals, documentation standards, and performance metrics as outlined by the organization to contribute to overall business growth.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with pediatric clients, neurological rehabilitation patients, and athletes requiring rehabilitation services. Your expertise will guide each patient's unique treatment pathway, ultimately enhancing their functional capacity and quality of life.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- A valid State License in Physical Therapy to practice in New York.
- A minimum of two years of experience working as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting.
- Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association to ensure patient safety.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Proficient computer skills for documentation, scheduling, and patient management tasks.
- The ability to cultivate strong relationships with patients and the community to promote a supportive environment.
Preferred Experience
While not required, candidates with background experience in specialized therapy techniques or practices, such as dry needling or sports rehabilitation, will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will also be advantageous in streamlining patient care processes.
