Job Description
An established mechanical contractor is seeking a Senior Plumbing Estimator to support large commercial and institutional construction projects throughout South Florida. This position is responsible for preparing detailed plumbing estimates, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, reviewing project documents, and supporting the successful pursuit of major construction opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive plumbing estimating experience, strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while working closely with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed plumbing estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects Review drawings, specifications, bid packages, and other project documents Perform digital takeoffs for plumbing piping systems, fixtures, equipment, and specialty systems Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors Develop material, labor, and equipment estimates Prepare bid proposals, scope summaries, and pricing documents Generate RFIs and clarify project requirements as needed Coordinate with estimating team members to ensure complete and accurate bids Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, and 3D takeoff tools to develop estimates Maintain organized bid documentation and vendor quotations Support conceptual budgets and hard bid estimates Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, contractors, and clients Visit project sites as needed to better understand project scope and field conditions Qualifications 10+ years of estimating experience within commercial mechanical construction Mechanical, plumbing, or MEP construction background Strong knowledge of plumbing systems Experience preparing both conceptual budgets and hard bid estimates Experience using estimating software and digital takeoff tools Experience performing quantity takeoffs for piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and equipment Experience preparing RFIs and coordinating bid clarification efforts Strong Excel skills Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Experience with healthcare, hospitality, education, correctional, casino, or large institutional projects preferred
