Position: Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) & Microsoft Azure - Advanced Location: Wilmington, Delaware Duration: Contract Job ID: 180418 Job Overview: This is a hands-on Lead Engineer position supporting multiple projects. The engineer will work with business, product, TPM, and project management teams to understand business problems, create practical system designs, write code, and deliver solutions that work in production. The role also includes guiding junior and mid-level engineers, setting technical direction, leading work toward completion, performing code reviews, and using AI to automate activities across the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Java and Spring Boot applications in AWS. Translate business requirements into practical system designs and production-ready technical solutions. Lead hands-on coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across the SDLC. Guide junior and mid-level engineers, provide technical direction, and lead projects through completion. Apply secure coding, CI/CD, resiliency, infrastructure, and cloud-native development practices. Collaborate with business, product, TPM, infrastructure, and project teams while using AI to automate SDLC activities. Must-Have Strong experience with Java. Strong experience with Spring Boot. Experience working with AWS. Experience deploying application components to AWS. Strong practical system design experience. Ability to write hands-on code and deliver production-ready solutions. Ability to guide junior and mid-level engineers. Experience conducting code reviews. Ability to identify coding-standard issues, vulnerable code, and code that should not be released to production. Clear communication and strong technical articulation. At least some exposure to infrastructure. Nice-to-Have Experience building infrastructure. AWS certification at the Associate level or higher, such as: AWS Solutions Architect - Associate AWS Developer - Associate Experience using AI to automate SDLC activities. Experience with AWS ECS Fargate. Experience with AWS Lambda. Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases. Experience with PostgreSQL. Experience with Confluent Kafka.
