Job Details Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual design through final bid Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, and other construction documents Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals Identify scope gaps, potential cost risks, and value engineering opportunities Develop bid packages, pricing summaries, and detailed estimate breakdowns Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and subcontractors during the preconstruction process Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost information, and pricing records Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project scope reviews Assist with bid strategy, cost analysis, and proposal preparation Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted within established deadlines Support the transition of awarded projects from estimating to project management and field operations Qualifications: Experience in estimating for a commercial general contractor Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and project costs Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing detailed cost estimates Knowledge of subcontractor procurement, bid leveling, and scope analysis Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and construction management tools Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, competitive estimates Ability to collaborate effectively with preconstruction, project management, and field teams Interested in hearing more?
