While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.What does an IT Business Systems Analyst do for us?With moderate supervision, a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) works on requests and projects as a liaison between technologists and stakeholders. Their primary functions include solution assessment and validation, elicitation, analysis, management, and communication of requirements. They understand technology and applications and have experience with business processes and information systems. They translate and align solutions to meet IT strategy and business objectives, analyze and assist the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions, test and implement processes and new functionality, and troubleshoot and document system and user issues. This job resides within the IT organization.In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state.REQUIRED SKILLSKnowledge of:Business analyst principles, requirements management, business case development, elicitation, communication, analysis and process modelingPreferred:Experience with adaptive and predictive project management methodologiesSkills in:Requirements management from planning to executionDeveloping and tracking project requirementsGood verbal and written communication skillsMeeting facilitation and negotiationProblem solving, making sound recommendations and managing expectationsPreferred:Basic SQL capabilitiesImplementation of infrastructure and application-based projectsAbility to:Exercise logical reasoning and analysisExercise sound judgement and decision makingGather business requirements, interpret technical specifications and relate them to system functionalityFacilitate work sessions with stakeholders to design or redesign business processes to meet requirementsManage multiple projects/initiatives through business case development and requirements managementInteract and communicate clearly with technical personnel along with all levels of business leadership and project stakeholdersAlign and fuse business and IT strategiesFocus on the details without losing overall perspective of the larger goalMaintain effectiveness when experiencing changes in work tasks or the work environmentAdjust efficiently to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or culturesPrioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectivelyCreate and maintain business relationshipsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSIT Business Systems Analyst:Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related fieldORAn equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certificationsExperience:2 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 1 year of business analyst experienceSenior IT Business Systems Analyst:Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related fieldORAn equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certificationsExperience:5 or more years professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
