Test Automation Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Consultant to lead and support large-scale test automation initiatives across SAP and non-SAP applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca, test automation frameworks, continuous testing practices, and test automation strategy. This role involves collaborating with the Test Manager and cross-functional teams to improve automation coverage, optimize testing processes, and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale test automation implementations across SAP and non-SAP applications using Tricentis Tosca and other relevant automation tools.
• Collaborate with the Test Manager to define automation strategies, establish best practices, and provide technical guidance to the testing team.
• Evaluate systems and applications to identify suitable candidates for test automation across SAP GUI, web-based applications, SAP Fiori, client-server applications, and mobile platforms.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts in alignment with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD), and Continuous Testing practices.
• Perform defect triage, analyze test execution results, and prepare automation reports to support effective quality management.
• Design and implement test data management strategies to automate test data creation, maintenance, and provisioning for various functional testing requirements.
• Maximize test automation coverage through continuous test case evaluation, candidate identification, prioritization, and automation reviews.
• Perform proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate emerging tools, technologies, and industry best practices, incorporating suitable innovations into the automation framework.
• Perform hands-on administration, configuration, customization, and upgrade activities for Tricentis Tosca and Tosca DEX.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation components, frameworks, and accelerators to improve test efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with functional, technical, and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into software delivery pipelines.
• Utilize test management, DevOps, and test analytics tools to manage test cases, track defects, monitor execution, and report progress.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot automation issues and continuously improve testing effectiveness.
• Work effectively within Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca test automation, including framework development and implementation.
• Experience leading or supporting large-scale automation initiatives across SAP and non-SAP applications.
• Practical experience with Tosca DEX administration, configuration, customization, and upgrades.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C#/.NET or Java.
• Familiarity with API testing and API automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Continuous Testing practices.
• Knowledge of test data management strategies and automated test data provisioning.
• Experience with test management, DevOps, and test analytics tools such as qTest Manager, Micro Focus/OpenText ALM, Azure DevOps (ADO), Rally, and LiveCompare.
• Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or other iterative software development environments.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
