Job Summary
The Department of Applied Psychology is seeking adjunct teaching positions to teach Applied Psychology courses online in a Christian liberal arts context.
Salary and Appointment
Part‑time appointment. Adjunct pay is $5,013–$6,684 for a 3‑unit full semester appointment; the units determine the actual salary.

Responsibilities
- Teach online courses through Canvas LMS.
- Develop online courses as needed.
- Invest in students and engage them via online discussions.
- Evaluate student performance and provide substantive feedback on assignments.
- Input final grades in Workday.
- Provide accommodations for students who require them in accordance with the PLNU Educational Access Center.
- Participate in program, department, and/or institutional activities as appropriate.
- Contribute to preparing students for their postgraduate careers and helping them discern their call.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. preferred; M.A. in applied psychology, psychology, or a related field.
- Evidence of a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with online pedagogy, instructional strategies, and adult student instruction.
- Experience in online course development preferred.
- Adult teaching experience preferred.
- Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and desire to work in a Christian university.
- Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
- Agreement to live in accordance with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary with extended computer use; occasional standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 10lb.
