Shift: 1st shift 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Mon-Thurs), 2nd shift 3pm-1:30am (Mon- Thurs)
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour (4% differential for 2nd shift)
Duration: Temporary
Location: San Diego, CA 92121
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electromechanical Assembler to support electrical and mechanical assembly work for a variety of components and products. This role works under direct supervision and may support different product lines based on business needs. Work may be performed in a clean room manufacturing environment depending on staffing and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support production builds as directed by the supervisor to meet manufacturing schedules
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, and verbal directions to complete assembly tasks
- Assist with electrical and/or mechanical assembly and rework processes
- Inspect components and assemblies for defects or quality concerns
- Communicate material shortages or inventory concerns to leadership
- Provide feedback regarding manufacturing or assembly issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience using small electromechanical assembly tools such as torque wrenches, screwdrivers, tweezers, UV light sources, and adhesive dispensers
- Ability to work in a clean room manufacturing environment
- Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Education:
- High School Diploma required
- Post-high school technical training preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in instrumentation, biomedical, consumer electronics, or related manufacturing/assembly environments
- Experience with one or more of the following preferred:
- Microscope or magnification work
- Plastic components, adhesives, or fixturing
- Manual, semi-automated, or automated assembly equipment
- Clean room manufacturing practices
- Experience working in an ISO/GMP regulated environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs occasionally
- Strong close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment abilities required
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- May require shift work as needed
