Attorney (Civil Litigation)

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Pay: $100,000-$200,000 Base Salary/yr (Incentive + Year End Bonus)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 3-5 years of civil litigation experience to independently manage cases through every phase of the litigation process. This includes early case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations, court appearances, and trial preparation.

This is a hands-on role for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of a diverse litigation caseload. In addition to delivering excellent legal work, the successful candidate will help improve internal processes, promote consistency across matters, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while delivering outstanding client service. You'll collaborate closely with senior attorneys, support the development of junior team members, and help strengthen our litigation practice through leadership, accountability, and initiative.

What Success Looks Like

Independently manage litigation matters from pre-suit through resolution.
Deliver exceptional client communication and service throughout every case.
Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff while developing leadership skills.
Become eligible for discretionary incentive bonuses beginning at 1,600 annual billable hours.

Primary Responsibilities

Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, including hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, trials, and other court proceedings.
Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and related legal documents.
Conduct legal research and apply findings to case strategy and advocacy.
Develop litigation strategies that align with client goals and risk management objectives.
Negotiate favorable settlements while protecting client interests.
Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case developments and expectations.
Ensure all matters remain organized and deadlines are consistently met.
Identify procedural risks and recommend workflow improvements that increase quality and efficiency.
Mentor support staff and share legal knowledge to strengthen team performance.
Contribute to firm initiatives that improve operations, collaboration, and long-term growth.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.
3-5 years of civil litigation experience.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.
Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $100,000-$200,000 annually, depending on experience + Incentive & Bonus

Schedule

Monday through Friday

8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Fully on-site in Phoenix, Arizona.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a traditional office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
Occasional travel to project or construction sites requiring walking on uneven surfaces and compliance with safety procedures. xibtplm
Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds when transporting files or materials.
