Job Description

Job Description: Full-Time Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Fabricator
Lincoln, CA $35-$48 per hour DOE Full-Time, Year-Round
West Coast Removal, an established commercial demolition company in Lincoln, CA, is looking for an experienced Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Fabricator to join our team full-time.
This is not a basic automotive mechanic position.
We need someone who is mechanically strong, resourceful and comfortable working on a wide variety of vehicles, trailers, demolition equipment, hydraulic systems and fabricated components. Our ideal mechanic is the person who can look at something that's broken, figure out why, and get it working again.
What You'll Work On
Our fleet and equipment includes trucks, vans, trailers, demolition equipment, small equipment and other construction-related machinery.
Your responsibilities will include:

Gas and diesel engine diagnostics and repair
Fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs
Trailer repair and maintenance
Brakes, bearings, hubs, axles and suspension
Steering and drivetrain repairs
Hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, hoses and fittings
Electrical diagnostics, wiring and lighting
Small engines and construction equipment
Welding and metal fabrication
Cutting, grinding and custom fabrication
Equipment modifications and repairs
Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Troubleshooting unusual mechanical problems
Inspecting vehicles, trailers and equipment for safety issues
Keeping maintenance and repair needs organized and prioritized
Occasional field repairs when equipment needs attention on a jobsite

We're Looking for Someone Who

Has solid hands-on mechanical experience
Understands both gas and diesel equipment
Is experienced with hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting
Can weld and fabricate
Is comfortable working on trucks, trailers and construction equipment
Can diagnose problems instead of simply replacing parts
Works independently and doesn't need constant direction
Takes pride in doing repairs correctly
Understands the importance of keeping equipment safe and operational
Is dependable, organized and able to prioritize multiple repairs
Can think outside the box when a repair requires fabrication or a custom solution

Experience working with construction, demolition, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, trailers, agriculture, trucking or similar equipment is especially valuable.
Why This Position Is Different
You'll be working on one company's fleet and equipment, not turning customer repair tickets all day.
We offer steady, full-time, year-round work with a growing demolition company that relies heavily on having its vehicles and equipment running safely and reliably.
We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the shop and become the go-to person for keeping our fleet and equipment in top shape.
Pay
$35-$48 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
We're willing to pay at the upper end of the range for the right person who brings strong experience in diesel, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, welding, fabrication and heavy equipment repair.
If you're the kind of mechanic who can diagnose it, weld it, wire it, fabricate it, rebuild it or figure out why it isn't working, we'd like to talk to you.
Full-time position located in Lincoln, California.
Please apply with your work history or resume and tell us a little about the types of vehicles, equipment and systems you've worked on.
