Job Description
The employee helps client organizations design, configure, and implement informatics software systems used to capture, manage, and analyze scientific research and laboratory data, so that clients can use that data to make scientific and operational decisions. The clients are pharmaceutical / biotechnology companies, predominantly focused on research and development (including various therapeutics areas, cell and gene therapy, protein engineering, drug metabolism, process chemistry, etc.) Specific systems the employee works with include Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Chromatography Data Systems (CDS). The employee gathers requirements from client scientific and laboratory stakeholders, translates those requirements into system configurations and workflows within these platforms, and validates that the configured workflows meet the client's documented research and data-management needs. Deliverables provided to clients include configured and tested informatics systems, defined data-capture and laboratory workflows, requirements and design documentation, and recommendations for adopting informatics technologies. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Life Sciences, Biopharma, Pharmaceutical Engineering Biotechnology, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Alternatively, the employer would accept a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Life Sciences, Biopharma, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role in lieu of the Bachelors degree plus five (5) years of described experience. Requires three (3) years of experience in the following: Domain knowledge. COTS product configuration, implementation, and managed services support. Requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Project management and solution implementation. At least one of the following: drug discovery functions; drug development functions; Biologics, Cell and Gene Therapy Process; lab operations management; or GMP. At least one of the following databases: Oracle or SQL Server. At least one of the following operating systems: Unix or Windows. Software development processes: Waterfall and Agile. At least one of the following: data warehousing tools; LIMS systems; ELN platforms; research informatics platforms; or reporting platforms. Occasional domestic travel is required. Travel and work at client sites as assigned. Telecommuting is allowed one day per week. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
