Absolutely! Since this is for a preschool and elementary behavioral health clinic, I would focus on creating a warm, child-friendly, sensory-conscious environment rather than a traditional commercial interior design role.

Experience Required: 1-3 Years
Position Summary
Children's Advocate is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Decorator to help design welcoming, engaging, and therapeutic environments for preschool and elementary-aged children. • Create inviting and functional spaces that support children with diverse behavioral, developmental, and emotional needs.
  • Coordinate room layouts to maximize safety, accessibility, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with leadership and clinical staff regarding space needs and functionality.
  • Source furnishings, décor, and materials while staying within budget.
  • Assist with seasonal decorations and special clinic events.
  • Monitor design projects from planning through installation.
  • Maintain organized records of purchases, vendors, and project budgets.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in interior decorating, interior design, visual merchandising, or related field.

  • Ability to create sensory-conscious environments for children.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency with design software such as Canva, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar programs is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Montessori, preschool, or elementary learning environments.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and sensory-friendly design concepts.
  • Ability to shop strategically and manage decorating budgets.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Photography or social media content creation experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move décor items and light furniture up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during decorating projects.
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly or project-based compensation based on experience.
