Leading the design, development, and maintenance of scalable Ruby on Rails applications, the full-time Associate Architect will work remotely to optimize application performance, drive migration projects, and collaborate with DevOps and product teams on CI/CD practices. Key responsibilities Architect and deploy Rails applications using AWS services and manage Docker-based microservices with Kubernetes Drive migration projects from Blackboard to Canvas LMS, ensuring secure and accurate data transfer and API integrations Implement monitoring and alerting systems while participating in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers Required qualifications 6+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Ruby on Rails Proven experience in Blackboard to Canvas LMS migration, including data migration and API integrations Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as ECS, EKS, and RDS Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments Strong knowledge of application server tuning and performance optimization techniques
