Our client, a growing multi-entity organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to partner closely with the CFO and take a leadership role in day-to-day accounting operations.
This is a high-impact position ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys both operational accounting oversight and strategic financial insight across multiple business lines.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Oversight
- Support the CFO in daily accounting operations across multiple entities
- Review and oversee key accounting functions, including:
- Accounts Payable (A/P)
- Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Payroll
- Insurance-related accounting
- General Ledger (G/L) activity
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial transactions
Financial Reporting & Reconciliations
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
- Review financial data and support preparation of internal financial reports
- Ensure proper controls and processes are followed across entities
Business & Operational Insight
- Develop a strong understanding of the organization's portfolio of businesses
- Identify opportunities for financial and operational improvements
- Provide recommendations to enhance efficiency, profitability, and reporting structure
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Assist in strengthening accounting processes, controls, and workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operations teams
- Support ongoing scalability of accounting systems and practices
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong working knowledge of:
- General ledger accounting
- Financial reporting
- Reconciliation processes
- Experience reviewing and managing A/P, A/R, and payroll functions
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with executive leadership
