Role Description The Diesel Mechanic role at Tierra LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Lakeland, GA. In this role, the mechanic will perform diagnostic evaluations, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or repairing defective parts, and completing routine service such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and system checks. The mechanic will document all work performed, maintain accurate service records, and communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repair needs. This role also involves adhering to safety protocols, using proper tools and equipment, and assisting with emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics, including troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines and related systems.
Experience in Vehicle Maintenance, covering inspections, repairs, and routine service for trucks or fleet vehicles.
Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Heavy Equipment repair, including hydraulics, brakes, and powertrain systems.
Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance to manufacturer standards, with a focus on safety, reliability, and minimizing downtime.
Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and work orders.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift moderate weights, work in various weather conditions, and stand or bend for extended periods.
Commitment to workplace safety, proper tool usage, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
