DFW Pet Sitting Services has been caring for North Texas pets since 2003. Today we're about 200 sitters and 8,000 client families, and we're adding sitters across northern Collin County: McKinney, Celina, Prosper, Melissa, Anna, Princeton, Fairview, and the communities in between. This is one of our fastest-growing areas and we need more sitters than we have. Wherever you live up here, we have clients near you.
What the job actually is
Pet sitting and dog walking, in the client's home. You visit pets while their people are at work or traveling. Dogs and cats, roughly half and half, so this is more than a walking route. A visit is 25 to 30 minutes: feed, refresh water, scoop the litter or take the dog out, give meds if the pet is on them, walk if the plan calls for it, and then spend the rest of the time being good company. Most of our sitters say the hanging-out part is the best part.
This is almost entirely single-family homes with yards, from the new master-planned communities in Celina, Prosper, and north McKinney to the historic streets around downtown McKinney and the larger lots in Fairview. Quiet neighborhoods, easy walks, and a lot of families who travel and need someone they trust. Your assignments match where you live.
How scheduling works
We ask one question: are you available mornings, middays, and evenings? Available, not committed. You will not be working all three windows every day. Every assignment is offered to you individually and you say yes or no. Nothing goes on your calendar unless you accept it.
If you can do middays, tell us. Midday is where we're thinnest across McKinney and Celina, and it's the visit clients care about most, because they want the same sitter walking in at the same hour every workday. That consistency is what they're paying for.
How pay works
You're paid per visit, not by the clock. Each 25-minute visit pays $12.50, which works out to $25 an hour of visit time. Because your assignments are kept within about 5 miles of your home, the drive between visits is usually 5 to 10 minutes, so a string of midday visits runs close to that $25 rate for the block. Drive time itself is not paid separately.
The details
W-2 employee, not a contractor. We've hired this way since 2003 and handle payroll taxes for you.
Assignments within about 5 miles of your home, so a Celina sitter stays in Celina and Prosper, and a McKinney sitter stays in McKinney, not crossing the whole county
Application takes under a minute, no account needed
