We have clients in Richardson, Garland, Rowlett, Sachse, and Wylie who need a sitter close by, and not enough sitters there yet. DFW Pet Sitting Services has been doing this since 2003 with about 200 sitters and 8,000 client families across the Metroplex, and this is one of the areas where we need more people.

The work

Short visits to pets in their own homes while the owners are at work or away. A standard visit is 25 minutes. You feed, refresh water, handle the litter box or a potty break, give medication if the pet takes any, walk the dog when that's part of the routine, and spend whatever time is left just keeping them company. Dogs and cats, and it's more than a dog-walking gig.

Your clients are yours

When a client near you books, we offer the job to you first. You see the address, the dates, the times, and what pets are involved, and you say yes or no. If you take it, that household is yours from then on. When they book again, it comes to you. If you need a day off, you tell us and we find the backup. The client still stays yours.

Availability

You'll need to be available mornings, middays, and evenings, but you won't work all three every day. Clients travel on their own schedules, so some weeks are busy and some are quiet. Midday is where we need the most help, because clients want the same person at the same time each workday.

Pay

$12.50 for a 25-minute visit, which is $25 an hour of visit time. That's the floor for one or two pets within 5 miles of your home. Most households have more pets than that, so a typical visit runs $12.50 to about $16, and medication, extra miles, holidays, and same-day requests are added on top. Client meetings and key trips are paid too. You're a W-2 employee with taxes withheld, not a 1099 contractor.
